Most of the "good" rap songs are on serious topics. Many of 2Pac's songs were on how bad the world was. Take "Keep Ya Head Up" That was about the lack of respect women received, particularly those of black ethnicity. Most of Eminem's latest songs were about his daughter and take N.W.A as well. The list goes on and on.

WHY do you people need to understand lyrics? You can't understand rap and people like it but when you put in guitar and drum fills all of a sudden it is rip into the guy with the headbanger hair. I personally like most Metal and Hard Rock. I HATE Country and rap (U don't want me to describe how much I hate this one). Rap isn't even music and everything other than maybe the drum beat is synthesized. At least with Country I hear real instruments. And pop... Pop music (Which for those of you who don't know is the stuff they play on 85% of radio stations. Ya know the ones where every three seconds there is another "Up and coming band" of Gary Oak 18 year-old guys with girls haircuts.) is absolute junk. It is Rap mixed with Country. You get real instruments played by "Rock Stars" (<-- Say with a Gary Oak accent) but all sound EXACTLY the same! I have to stop with these rants... Just lay off of Metal because you can't understand what the lead singer is saying. Isn't more fun then when you learn the lyrics and can tell your friends what Lemmy Kilmister is actually saying in Ace of Spades? (End of Rant)

When you understand rap. And actually know what the lyrics are going on about, then it makes sense. I mean all the good rappers rap about issues happening to them or in the world. And what makes a rapper good is their choice of lyrics. Listen to the good ones. Like 2Pac, Biggie Smalls and others. The point is this music has meaning to it. Unlike modern rappers who care all about the monies.

OK how Do people not like rap???? I mean, ya some of it is trash like the video sophie posted -_-. But the message behind alot of the rap songs are strong, and people like k'naan who have catchy songs, are awesome, I also like it when people rap and make up a song on the spot. Oh and when you say "scremo" people these days classify it as a lot of music styles, like christian metal, celtic metal. etc etc. And when you see someone preform scremo live, you get amazed xD. And my least favorite genre is Techno, It just irritates me.
