Boss strategy guide Empty Boss strategy guide

Post by ΩHunterCXXV Fri Sep 18, 2009 4:10 pm

i was thinking, and i decided it would be neat if the members of the forums gave their strategy's for beating CT bosses

here is the format:

boss name:
boss HP:
boss techs: (you can get them from the bestiary, provided you beat the boss, and if you didn't beat the boss you aren't qualified to tell us how to beat the boss)
how to unlock boss fight: (sometimes it's hard to find where the boss is)
recommended party:
strategy:

(i'd start first but i'm too lazy to check boss data right now)
((you can do a boss that someone else has done before, if you give a different strategy))

Boss Name: Mother Brain-Display(x3)
HP: 5000-1
Mother Brain Techs: Dark Beam, Reprogram/Confuse, Lasr Spin, Memory Reset/Omnilock, Upgrade
Display Techs:Cure Beam
How To Unlock Boss Fight: First go to 2300 AD. Second fly the Epoch to the Geno Dome. Third fight your way though the Geno Dome while completing certain tasks. Fourth do a 1 on 1 boss battle against Atropos XR. Fifth place the figurines on either side of the door leading to Mother Brain. Sixth enter the room and prepare for the boss battle.
Recommended Party: Crono, Ayla, Robo (note: Robo is required to be in the party in order to advance past the entry room of the Geno Dome)
Strategy: First off you want to get rid of the three Display enemies, since they can heal Mother Brain, I recommend using Twister to do so. Once the Display enemies are gone focus all of your attacks on Mother Brain. Keep using Twister. If your party is really strong, it should take either 1, 2, or 3 uses of Twister to beat Mother Brain.

Boss strategy guide Empty Re: Boss strategy guide

This looks like fun! Also added a few more things to it.

Boss Name: Giga Gaia - Defense Arm - Attack Arm
Boss HP: 9500 - 2000 - 2000
Defense/Magic Def: 127/50 - 127/50 - 127/50
Weak To: None - None - None
Absorbs: None - None - None
Immune: None - None - None
Giga Gaia Techs: Arm Restoration
Def Arm Techs: Water Surge/Water, Restore Head, Doublehand Blaster/Fire, Dark Plasma/Shadow
Atk Arm Techs: Arm Attack/Halves HP, Gaia Magnade/Fire, Doublehand Blaster/Fire, Dark Plasma/Shadow
How To Unlock Boss Fight: Storyline
Recommended Party: Crono, Ayla, Frog

Strategy: First off, if you brought Ayla, Charm Giga for a Speed Capsule. Now, Focus all your attacks on Giga. You could attack the arms, since they have low HP, but it isn't that useful since Giga will just restore them. If you get low on health, use Slurp Kiss. Also if you are going to kill the arms first, beat the Defense arm first. Defense arm can heal Giga, so watch out for that. If it keeps doing that, you might want to kill it, but remember that Giga can restore the arms, even if they are dead. However, killing Giga will win the fight and instantly kill the arms.

ALSO: LegendaryHunter told me you can Falcon Strike to kill the arms fast. It might work for you, if you really hate the arms that badly. Just remember Giga can revive them.

Rewards: 3000 EXP, 30 TP, 3000G
Treasure: None - None - None
Charm: Speed Capsule - None - None

zaazaa, a better way that i've found to beat giga gaia is to use falcon hit to defeat his arms, then use your best techs/attacks on giga, just thought i'd mention it

the arms will destroy you if you give them the chance, so get rid of them quickly

Sure the arms destroy you, thats why you use Slurp Kiss. But the the falcon idea was good, I'll add that.

Boss name: Masamune
Boss HP: 3600
Boss Techs:Doublehand Chop, Hurricane, Vacuum Wave
How to unlock boss fight. Defeat Ozzie's forces and Zombor at Zenan Bridge in 600 A.D. Talk to Tata and get the Hero Badge. Then, talk to Frog in the Cursed Woods. After that, head up the Denadoro Mountains.
Reccomended party: Crono,Marle,Lucca(Lucca should already in your party since you need her to defeat those Ogans.
Strategy: After Masa and Mune combine into one, start using Cleave and Antipode Bomb. Hurricane is a very powerful tech and can confuse you. To prevent this, have Crono use Wind Slash after it says" storing wind energy". After Crono uses Wind Slash, it should say" Wind Energy Dissipated". To heal, have Crono and Marle use Aura Whirl.

I have heard of many people struggling with this boss, mainly because it is difficult to heal. To overcome this, bring Marle along and sit out Robo, although you wouldn't do so much damage.

Eh, as Digimatt's Magus guide is a bit unclear, I'll try magus.
boss name: Magus
boss HP: 6666
boss techs: Scythe, H*ll Geyser, Dark Matter
Counters (techs used only when countering attacks): Lightning II, Ice II, Fire II, Dark Bomb
Absorb: Light, Shadow, Water, Fire
Recommended Party: Crono, Frog, Marle
strategy:
Attack Magus with a physical attack. He will counter with an elemental tech. His weakness will now match that element. If his weakness is something you can attack with, hit him with Frog's Masamune, which will lower his magic defence. Now hit him with your strongest tech that matches his weakness. Once he counters again, repeat this process and heal when needed. If his weakness becomes something you can't attack with, then attack him with another physical attack and make him change his weakness. Make sure your healed before changing the weakness though. Once you are about halfway through the battle, he will start using dark matter. Dark Matter is deadly, and will most likely do a lot of damage. During this time though, he will lower his defenses so hit him with your strongest techs and heal each time he uses dark matter.
