Magus help

I am a newcomer to crono trigger and I need help on Magus.

Team Crono:lv 26 Slasher, Gold Helm, Gold suit, Power Glove
Marle lv 25 Bndit's bow, Porrean beret, Mist Robe, Ribbon
Frog lv 24 Masamune, Iron helm, Dark mail, Hero's badge

well you're a higher level than me, and i haven't defeated magus, and i'd like some help too

I would Reccomend Training to the High 20's I.E 27-29,Stock up on lots of Items,and First off in the Battle Starting pwning Magus with the Masamune..Then,When he Switches to Non-Water Tech Counters or Does Dark Matter Start Spamming Frost Arc which can Deal lots of Damage.

Well, you're certainly good level for it! My suggestion is always have Frog use the Masamune. When he uses a Spell, use a spell of matching Magic against him. if you don't have that type of spell, just use the Masamune. Then, when he starts summoning a spell, use everything you have on him.

I actually pumped strength into my characters because I got peeved with Magus, got to level 50 each. That took a while, but I got past it... Eventually.

In addition to what Majorasfan said, also don't be afraid to actually just sit and do nothing. If attacking is just going to hurt you more than help, just wait to attack till the time is right. Two healers is helpful, meaning Robo or Marle. That way if they have nothing to do, you can heal. I only think I ever lost that battle once. I've been a master at Magus since the day I first fought him.

Man I realized his pattern after I posted this. But I'm stuck after you get the epooche thing.

I was so underleveled with Magus(whole team at level 22). Robo hasn't even learnt Heal Beam at that point. My team was Crono, Frog and Lucca. And i disagree with what everyone said. Fire Sword, Sword Stream and Lightning Rod were the dual techs to go. If he used dark bomb, I used the Masamune to lower his Magic defense. After he starts casting Dark Matter, I have Frog spam Heal and Crono and Lucca spam Fire Sword.

It's gonna take a million years with Marle in your party for this battle.

I'm honestly stuck on the Golems in ocean palace. They drain 90% of my hp at the start and they have high HP

The two golems? Don't attack them with Physical attacks. I recommend a party of Crono, Lucca, and Frog. Use their Triple Tech, and have Frog heal up when needed. Or you could use Crono, Marle, Frog, and only use water attacks on it.

Again I figured there weakness out after. I just blasted with Lightning II Ice II and Water II and they never attacked for some reason. Lucca is (IMO) a very weak character but I like marle for Ice Sword II
